Annabelle finds a box filled with colored yarn during the dead of winter. Everything is cold, dark, and dreary until Annabelle begins knitting sweaters for herself, friends, and the people of the town. As the town begins to change, everyone wonders when the yarn will run out. Annabelle refuses millions of dollars from a greedy archduke who eventually steals the special box of yarn. Will Annabelle be cursed forever or will her special box of yarn find its way back to her?
This interactive read aloud is designed for one or two class periods, however extensions can be taken over several days. This lesson is appropriate for multiple grade levels, depending on your students' needs.
